ELSA Alumni raises almost 10.000 Euro for Ukraine

From March to June 2022 ELSA alumni raised almost 10.000 euro for aid to Ukraine. 

In line with our goal to allocate the fundraised money with preference to humanitarian aid initiatives led by ELSA groups and ELSA Alumni in country or in surrounding countries we decided to donate respectively 5000 Euro to the following two organisations:

1. Fundacja Samodzielnosc od Kuchni (Foundation Recipe for independence), which provides food to the people at the Ukrainian-polish border with the help of Polish chefs, making sandwiches packages (up to 8000 per day);

2. Medical Center "100%LIFE" in Kiev, the largest patient organization and charity fund in Ukraine.

In addition, some alumni directly donated over Euro 10.000 to Medical supply line Germany-Poland-Lviv to the Ukrainian Defense Force.

Also, there were several alumni-led Whatsapp groups exchanging information on refugee aid networks and legal issues (the #1 accommodation website for refugees in Spain set up by Fernando Herrera), promoting hosting of refugees amongst community
