Conference | ELSA Alumni Annual Meeting 2026 with PCA

With great pride we can inform you that the Conference,
to be held during the ELSA Alumni Annual Meeting 2026,
is organised in cooperation with the
Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA)
and that it will be held at the headquarters of the PCA in the
Peace Palace in The Hague
We are thankful to the Permanent Court of Arbitration for their cooperation and providing the possibility to organise the Conference in the Peace Palace.
The Permanent Court of Arbitration, established by treaty in 1899, is an intergovernmental organization providing a variety of dispute resolution services to the international community.
During the Second Peace Conference in 1907, the foundation stone of the Peace Palace was laid. The building was intended not only to house the Permanent Court of Arbitration, but also a library in the field of international law and peace.
In the presence of the Dutch Royal Family, financier Andrew Carnegie and an international group of jurists, politicians and pacifists, the Peace Palace was inaugurated and the key to the building was presented to the PCA Secretary-General on 28 August 1913.
In addition to the Permanent Court of Arbitration, the Peace Palace now houses the United Nations International Court of Justice, the Hague Academy of International Law and the Peace Palace Library.
